Inside of foot pass – In correct direction

Used all over the field and repeatedly in a game, the inside-of-the-foot pass is the fundamental skill that provides a foundation to build on. Whether a player is stationary or moving, the inside-of-the-foot technique is basically the same. It is important that the pass goes in the correct direction, which may be to feet if the receiver is stationary or it may be into space for the receiver to run on to if they are moving.

Common errors – Often when the ball does not go where the player wants it to go, it is because the plant foot is too far in front, behind or away from the ball and/or not pointed in the general direction of the target.

Take the test:

Do this passing drill in a half circle with four gates. ( You can color code them if you wish ). Use two touches to get the ball through the gate that the server gives.

How many successful passes will you get in 20 attempts?

Drill to help improve passing accuracy.

Practice the above test. If you find a wall, you can make the gates on different parts of the wall. Play on your own or in groups of 2, 3 or 4.  See something similar below.
